The Sinlahekin Fire in Okanogan County has reached 56% containment, according to the latest InciWeb report updated August 25. Fire activity remains concentrated along the northwest perimeter with new spot fires and slopovers identified near Toats Coulee and east of Clark Peak.

Firefighters are focusing on mop-up and strengthening containment lines north of Cecile Creek Road and near Iron Gate and Hell’s Hole. Evacuations remain in effect for recreation areas between Conconully and Loomis, with the Loomis State Forest closed to recreational use. Residents near Winthrop may notice increased heavy-equipment traffic as crews reposition resources.
