The Porcupine Fire, a 3. 5-acre wildfire in the Porcupine Creek drainage, has been fully contained on the Idaho Panhandle National Forest. Firefighters completed fireline around both flanks of the fire, though further handline construction was deemed unfeasible due to cliffs and challenging terrain.
No evacuations or public safety alerts were issued for Okanogan–Omak residents. The fire originated in a remote area, requiring early aviation support to assist ground crews. Firefighters continue to monitor the site for potential rekindling.
