The PL Gulch Fire, reported July 13 in Rio Blanco County, was declared fully contained as of July 22. The fire burned in brush, grass, and piñon/juniper mix approximately 20 miles southwest of Meeker, near County Road 76 and County Road 5.
The Colorado Type 3 Incident Management Team assumed management on July 17 and worked with local resources. One residence was evacuated during fire movement toward County Road 5, but no evacuation orders remained as of July 22. Minor damage to high-voltage transmission lines was reported.
The fire will be returned to the local unit on July 23, per the Colorado Type 3 Incident Management Team's schedule.
