Nature Grove Fire Updates, Closures Remain

The Nature Grove Fire, detected August 23 at 4:44 p.m. by a local helicopter after a smoke report, continues to be managed by Forest Service crews. Aircrews conducted water and retardant drops since detection, with engines on scene.

FS Roads 720 and 711 remain closed as of September 14, 2026. Forest Service Road 75 and Highway 38 are open. The fire is located approximately one half mile from Black Bear Campground, south of Highway 38, with significant smoke reported in the Skalkaho drainage area.
