The MTBRF North Fork Fire grew approximately 10 acres to the south and east of its perimeter as of July 31, according to Bitterroot National Forest officials.
Firefighters are actively working on fuel breaks north of Lost Horse Road and east of the fire. Two additional hand crew modules are on order. The area is considered high-risk for firefighter insertion due to steep, rocky terrain with no foot or vehicle evacuation routes.
Residents should check closure areas under the Closures tab for updated access information.
