Okanogan County residents should prepare for overnight closures on I-405 and State Route 20 beginning late August. The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) announced multiple highway projects affecting local routes.
I-405 will see southbound lane closures from milepost 12 to Coal Creek Parkway Southeast from 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, to 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4. SR 20 will have alternating traffic with flaggers from Swin Slough Bridge (milepost 50) to Laconner Whitney Road/Bay View Road (milepost 53) daily except weekends beginning Aug. 21. Both projects are part of ongoing infrastructure work in the region.
WSDOT projects on I-5 near Alger/Lake Samish Road (exit 240) and north of North Lake Samish (exit 246) will continue with nightly lane reductions from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Sept. 4. The SR 4 gas main line extension work will close a single lane between 50th and 42nd Avenues weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Sept. 11.
