Please call the Cle Elum District Ranger Office for information at (509) 852-1100, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Closed for lunch from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. Closed Tuesdays, weekends and federal holidays. The Goat Fire is located on the Okanogan Wenatchee National Forest,15 Miles N of Ronald, WA, in Kittitas County. As of 9/28/26, it is 100% contained. Some areas of heat might continue to smolder and creep in heavy dead fuels and deep duff.THERE IS A CURRENT FOREST CLOSURE IN EFFECT. For the complete closure order, with a list of the closed roads and trails, and a closure map, please visit the Okanogan Wenatchee National Forest Website: https://www.fs.usda.gov/r06/okanogan-wenatchee.For the USDA Forest Service Region 6 Pacific Northwest Region interactive closures map: https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/44658a89c53d4957a799a6a50dd341aa The whole North Fork Teanaway Road up to the Cathedral Pass/Deception Pass Trailhead is fully open, with the closure order reduction that happened on September 18. All trails and roads to the east of the 903/4330 roads are also open. As are these roads to the Cathedral Pass/Deception Pass Trailhead. Both of these trails are also open. EVACUATION LEVELS WERE REDUCED IN PORTIONS OF THE THREE QUEENS, KING AND GOAT FIRE AREAS ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18 AND ARE STILL IN EFFECT.The Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office reduced evacuation warning levels in several areas affected by the Three Queens and Goat fires near the northern ends of Lake Kachess and Lake Cle Elum.The areas affected by these changes are within, or surrounded by, the portion of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest that remains closed to public recreation for the safety of the public and firefighting personnel. Lowering the evacuation warning levels does not reopen these areas for recreational access.
