The Ferris Fire, which merged with the Far Draw and Doe Canyon Fires on June 27, 2026, was declared 100% contained at 7 PM on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
The fire was caused by lightning and burned across San Juan National Forest, Bureau of Land Management, and private lands near Dolores, Colorado. Favorable weather conditions including rain and higher humidity in mid-July helped firefighters contain the fire.
This incident is not related to Okanogan–Omak, WA, as it occurred in Colorado. The fire was located approximately 15 miles northwest of Dolores, Colorado.
