The Electric Fire, reported on August 22 at 7:30 p.m., has grown to 15 acres in the Bacon Creek drainage on the Mount Baker Ranger District. Firefighters faced challenges due to steep, rugged terrain and heavy fuels, including dead and down timber.
Winds from August 24–26 contributed to the fire's expansion, with westerly winds on August 26 pushing the fire through dense fuels. Initial attack was conducted by Prineville Hotshots and aviation resources, but limited access has hindered further response efforts.
