Camp Creek Fire Spotted August 21

The Camp Creek Fire was spotted by Jumbo Lookout on August 21 at noon, located in the Danaher Creek drainage about 3 miles northeast of Jumbo Mountain. The fire has grown to over 70 acres within 24 hours, burning in heavy timber in the valley bottom.

The fire area is closed for public and firefighter safety. Smokejumpers and local crews were deployed for initial attack, with fire behavior described as active, including short-range spotting and a short crown run. Ground access remains difficult in the remote wilderness.
