The Border 2 Fire, initially two lightning-caused fires discovered July 17 within North Cascades National Park, combined on July 21 and now spans U. S. and Canadian territory. The fire has crossed the international border into Canada as the Hozomeen Mountain Wildfire and moved east onto Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest lands.
Managed under a full-suppression strategy, the fire remains in steep, rocky, remote terrain east of Ross Lake. No evacuation orders or immediate threats to populated areas are mentioned in the official update.
