Big Grass Fire Evacuations Upgraded in Okanogan–Omak Area

The Owyhee County Sheriff upgraded evacuations to Level 3 GO for Triangle Reservoir, Pleasant Valley, South Mountain, and surrounding areas on August 4, 2026. A Level 2 SET status remains for Silver City, with Level 1 READY for MAH-E063, MAH-E061, JOJ-E004, and JOJ-E003 zones.

Firefighters are constructing hand lines at the fire's edge in the Boulder Creek Area and realigning containment lines along Josephine Road to reduce the fire footprint. The fire remains active on the northern perimeter near Boulder Creek and eastern perimeter north of Mud Flat Road. BLM closures include North Fork Campground and areas south of Trout Creek Road to Highway 78.
